UPS Systems: A UPS is a back-up power system that is used to ensure uninterrupted power for various electronic devices. The power backup can range anywhere from five minutes to several hours. A three-phase UPS is used in industries where the current loads are very high and need to be distributed equally so as to prevent brownouts and/or blackouts.

The UPS is integral equipment for most industries because its use has the following benefits:
■ In the event of a power shutdown a UPS ensures that there is enough transit time to bridge power with a generator
■ It ensures that there is sufficient time to enable a proper shutdown of the network so as to avoid losing any data or important information
■ It provides adequate power to get through a small power outage
Energy Efficient UPS: In the case of a normal UPS, loads are usually not handled efficiently, which results in high power consumption and emission of heat by the normal UPS. This is where the energy efficient UPS brings a refreshing and most needed change. They are designed in a such a way, that across varying loads the same percentage of efficiency can be maintained and this results in lower power consumption and less heat emissions.
